Gangs of New York on 1800-luvun Five Pointsin slummikaupunginosaan New Yorkiin sijoittuva elokuva. Elokuvan ohjasi Martin Scorsese ja sen käsikirjoittivat Jay Cocks, Steven Zaillian ja Kenneth Lonergan.Gangs of New York on tarina alkuperäisten asukkaiden ja Irlantilaisten katolisten ala-maailman taisteluista. Päähenkilö on nuori Irlantilais-Yhdysvaltalainen Amsterdam Vallon (Leonardo DiCaprio), joka saavuttaa Daniel Day-Lewisin esittämän William "Bill the Butcher" Cuttingin, Natives-jengin johtajan luottamuksen. Cuttingin hahmo perustuu todelliseen historialliseen henkilöön, Bill "The Butcher" Pooleen, joka oli Bowery Boys-nimisen jengin johtaja. Poole on haudattu Green-Woodin hautausmaalle Brooklyniin, New Yorkiin.Elokuva on saanut arvostusta rajusta Yhdysvaltojen historian tulkinnastaan.Elokuva sai 10 Oscar-ehdokkuutta (mm. paras elokuva, ohjaus, miespääosa), muttei voittanut yhtäkään. Ohjaaja Scorsese palkittiin Golden Globella parhaasta ohjauksesta.
